What's on this week in Margaret River May 10th -17th 2010

There's always lot's happening in the Margaret River region, but here are a couple of things which have caught our eye.

This coming weekend Arts Margaret River is hosting the Readers & Writers festival. The weekend is packed full of workshops and talks by many well known writers, including what must be one of the highlights, Tony & Maureen Wheeler, authors of the Lonely Planet travel books. Check out all that's happening at their website.

On Sunday, Must wine bar sees Russell Blaikie host an Italian wine lunch. This looks like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and you can make use of our winter special by having a long weekend. It costs $88 per person and Must describes it as "a slow-food shared-table of classic specialties; stunning Italian cuisine will be matched by wines from the Trembath and Taylor portfolio spanning the length and breadth of Italy".

Also at Must, they have another couple of events which look worth attending -  a "Hands off my Bellini" every friday from 5pm. "Celebrate the end of the working week with this Classic Champagne Cocktail, matched with a delicious snacks plate, it’s the perfect way to get your weekend started… with a fizz!" Then if you have any energy left after a full weekend, you could go the "Sunday Sangria Session" "chill out to Latin grooves, authentic Tapas and Must created signature Sangria". Barcelona comes to Margaret River!

Go to their website to get the details.

The Town Square markets are on this Sunday, 16th and Hay Shed Hill winery have an exhibition of work by emerging West Australian artist Karli Dore showing until May 20th. They also do great food in their Deli cafe. We had a very lazy lunch there not so long ago which was great, lovely food and very relaxed.

Hope you have a great stay and sample some of the above.
