The latest news from the Farmstay

What's on this week in Margaret River May 10th -17th 2010

There's always lot's happening in the Margaret River region, but here are a couple of things which have caught our eye.

This coming weekend Arts Margaret River is hosting the Readers & Writers festival. The weekend is packed full of workshops and talks by many well known writers, including what must be one of the highlights, Tony & Maureen Wheeler, authors of the Lonely Planet travel books. Check out all that's happening at their website.

On Sunday, Must wine bar sees Russell Blaikie host an Italian wine lunch. This looks like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and you can make use of our winter special by having a long weekend. It costs $88 per person and Must describes it as "a slow-food shared-table of classic specialties; stunning Italian cuisine will be matched by wines from the Trembath and Taylor portfolio spanning the length and breadth of Italy".

Also at Must, they have another couple of events which look worth attending -  a "Hands off my Bellini" every friday from 5pm. "Celebrate the end of the working week with this Classic Champagne Cocktail, matched with a delicious snacks plate, it’s the perfect way to get your weekend started… with a fizz!" Then if you have any energy left after a full weekend, you could go the "Sunday Sangria Session" "chill out to Latin grooves, authentic Tapas and Must created signature Sangria". Barcelona comes to Margaret River!

Go to their website to get the details.

The Town Square markets are on this Sunday, 16th and Hay Shed Hill winery have an exhibition of work by emerging West Australian artist Karli Dore showing until May 20th. They also do great food in their Deli cafe. We had a very lazy lunch there not so long ago which was great, lovely food and very relaxed.

Hope you have a great stay and sample some of the above.

Luxury pet friendly accommodation in Margaret River

We know from experience how many people like to take their pets away on holiday with them and how difficult it is to find luxury pet friendly accommodation in Margaret River. So we have the perfect place for you to stay when you decide to come down south for some rest and relaxation! Angarrack Farm is ideally located - close to the beautiful Redgate beach, world class wineries such as Leeuwin Estate, Voyager, Xanadu, Redgate and Watershed, to name a few. In fact we are the closest accommodation to Leeuwin Estate and Voyager and it's only a 5 minute drive into the town of Margaret River.

The farm comprises of 176 acres of a mixture of pasture and native bush and the house has a very large garden. Many of our guests come to the farm as they love the walks through the 50 acres of bush. There are many tracks and you can let your dogs explore to their hearts content. They'll be worn out and then you can come back and relax on the deck with a well earned glass of wine!

We are happy for your pets to come inside, but we do ask for you to keep them off the furniture and out of the bedrooms. There is a wide veranda at the back of the house and a plenty of covered decking so they can enjoy the sun without getting too hot.

If you like to take your dog to the beach, there is a great beach at Gnarabup where dogs are allowed. It's sheltered and safe to swim. It also has a great cafe! we also like it at Augusta, there are a few different beaches there and they are all good for swimming as well. If you don't want to take your dog out with you we have set up a long chain on the back veranda so your pet can be secured and still be comfortable.

If you would like any more information about our luxury pet friendly accommodation in Margaret River then just email us or call, we are happy to help.

As a Cornish woman from the picturesque fishing town of Falmouth in the United Kingdom, Rebecca has always been influenced by mystery and legend. This has been an intrinsic cord that runs throughout her design philosophy and each creation has a story. Starting her career as a textile designer she found that this medium was the perfect conduit for tales told in sensual materials and opulent colours.
